PONTIAC – The St. Charles North boys basketball team topped Bloomington, 61-49, on Saturday, concluding a 3-1 run through the Pontiac Holiday Tournament that netted the team a fifth-place finish.

"Just a determined effort for us again tonight," North coach Tom Poulin said. "We did a good job of playing team defense and then executing on the offensive end."

Quinten Payne tallied 29 points for the 9-5 North Stars. On Friday, Payne had 26 points as the team rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Peoria Manual.

North's Alec Goetz added 14 points for North, which is in the midst of its best stretch of the season to date, Poulin said.
