The Committee to Elect John Rabchuk mayor of St. Charles has announced the publication of a website – www.rabchukformayor.com – and a related Facebook page to provide St. Charles residents with an easy way to learn more about John Rabchuk and his civic and business experience.

The website is designed to encourage residents to open a dialogue with Rabchuk to enhance their understanding of his experience and to provide a forum for residents to share their ideas and comments with him, states a news release.

Rabchuk is committed to building and maintaining open lines of communication with all of the residents and business owners throughout St. Charles during the campaign and throughout his mayoral term, the release states. He will begin hosting "Breakfast with the Mayor-to-Be" open meetings at restaurants throughout the city beginning in late January 2013 (specific dates/times and locations will be posted on the campaign website, as well as publicized through local media outlets). Following his election, Rabchuk intends to continue hosting this type of open meeting on a monthly basis to continue his desire and commitment for an open dialogue with residents.

Residents are also encouraged to host meet-and-greet events at their homes as an opportunity to meet Rabchuk face-to-face and engage in an open discussion of citywide and neighborhood issues, the release states. Interested residents can contact the committee about holding such an event by accessing the www.rabchukformayor.com website.

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
