ST. CHARLES – A two-week traffic safety campaign that ended Tuesday yielded three DUI arrests, the St. Charles Police Department announced Friday. Officers also issued five citations for safety-belt violations, five citations for uninsured motorists, 11 speeding tickets and one citation for other violations. Seventeen warnings also were given for various violations.
The safety campaign was done in cooperation with and funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation. It was part of a statewide program to reduce traffic fatalities.
