Batavia applies for county grants
BATAVIA – The Batavia City Council is applying for two county grants to fund sidewalk improvements and a river corridor redevelopment plan.
Aldermen Monday approved applying for a $170,000 Kane County Community Development Block Grant to fund about 3,300 feet of sidewalks near the central part of Batavia.
“In order to be funded, the projects must primarily benefit residential areas,” Batavia Community Development Director Scott Buening said in a memo to aldermen.
