ST. CHARLES – St. Charles School District 303 parents and guardians may register their children for kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year Feb. 6 at all district elementary schools. Register at the school where children in your area currently attend kindergarten.

Per state law, a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, to attend kindergarten during the 2013-2014 school year. A certified copy of the student’s original county-issued birth certificate will be required at the time of registration.

Families also must provide two documents as proof of residency. Proof of residency includes parents’ names and district addresses on any of the following documents: driver’s license, signed lease or rental agreement, rental receipt, bill of sale or closing statement showing ownership of a home, recent property tax bill and recent utility bill.

Families' parcel identification number, or PIN, also is required for kindergarten registration. PINs can be obtained from property tax bills or at www.co.kane.il.us/webapps/taxcollector/taxmenu.asp for Kane County residents or www.waynetownshipassessor.com for DuPage County residents.

Parents have the option of all-day kindergarten or half-day kindergarten. All-day kindergarten is a tuition-based program and requires a nonrefundable $50 registration deposit to ensure placement. Information regarding all-day kindergarten tuition for the 2013-2014 school year will be available before Feb. 6.

Registration times are as follows:

• 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bell-Graham, Corron, Ferson Creek, Lincoln, Munhall, Norton Creek, Wasco and Wild Rose.

• 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Anderson Elementary.

• 9 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Davis Primary and Fox Ridge Elementary.
