BATAVIA – A candlelight vigil is planned tonight in Batavia, one month after the Dec. 14 school shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

The event is organized by Page and Carol McCloud, and it will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at the corner of Batavia Avenue and Wilson Street. Participants are urged to bring a candle, a sign and a friend. Organizers say people can come for 10 minutes or stay the entire hour.
