Fire district eyes Route 25 site for station

CAMPTON HILLS – The Fox River and Countryside Fire/Rescue District plans to meet Friday to begin the process of acquiring land for a new station, district officials said.

Board President Jim Gaffney said the district has been eyeing the former Wise-Hamlin Plastics site at 6N330 Route 25 for about a year, but it only recently tracked down the owner of the foreclosed property, a private bank.

The property is a good location for the district because it is centrally located on the east side of the Fox River, he said. Additionally, it is halfway between Stearns Road Bridge and Red Gate Bridge.

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
