GENEVA – Mike & Miguel’s Cantina and Grill, a local hangout and Mexican restaurant in Geneva, has closed, but a new restaurant may take its place soon.

Ellen Divita, economic development director for Geneva, said the restaurant closed two or three weeks ago, but someone already has applied for permits to open what Divita believes to be another restaurant. The building is at 308 Anderson Blvd. in Geneva.

Mike & Miguel’s opened in 2003 as a carry-out eatery and expanded in 2004 to include a dining area. The restaurant was known for its authentic Mexican fare paired with American dishes.
