Prep roundup: Burlington Central girls hoops still perfect in BNC East

BURLINGTON – The Burlington Central girls basketball team thumped Genoa-Kingston, 55-19, on Friday to remain unbeaten in Big Northern Conference East play.

Central (17-4, 8-0 BNC East) was coming off its most tense conference game to date, Tuesday’s 42-32, double-overtime victory at Rockford Christian.

“The girls played well,” Rockets coach Mark Smith said. “They weren’t happy with how they came out at the start of the game the other night, so we started out strong and put a lot of pressure on them to get ahead early.”
