Longtime Batavia alderman Beckman dies at age 84
BATAVIA – Former Batavia Alderman Chuck Beckman is remembered as someone who loved Batavia. Beckman, who died Sunday at the age of 84, was on the Batavia City Council for 30 years before stepping down in 2005.
At the time, he was the longest-serving alderman on the council.
He also started his own business, Chuck’s Garage, which now is run by his son, Dennis.
