U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, R-Winfield, learned that in his role on the Financial Services Committee, he will serve on two subcommittees: Capital Markets & Government Sponsored Enterprises and Oversight & Investigations.

Rep. Scott Garrett from New Jersey will chair the Capital Markets & Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee, which oversees financial instruments like derivatives and securities, market structure, and secondary mortgage organizations, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Rep. Patrick McHenry of North Carolina will chair the Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee, which has oversight over all agencies, programs, and departments under the full Committee’s jurisdiction.

“I look forward to working closely with Reps. Garrett and McHenry on these subcommittees,” said Hultgren. “We have a lot of work to do.”
