Police presence

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

I was at Kaneland Harter Middle School in Sugar Grove Tuesday as Sugar Grove Police Chief Ron Moser, Sgt. Tom Barna and Mayor Sean Michels unveiled one of three new squad cars recently purchased by the village.

Group after group of sixth graders filed into the school's receiving area to take a look at the new 2013 Ford Interceptor, with its lights flashing. The students, including Mabel Cummins (pictured) got a chance to climb into the passenger side of the car and out the driver's side.

It was a great way that the police department could be involved with the students and allow them to see them in a more laid back environment.
