Big Rock resident Sandy Telfer, 54, was with her granddaughter, Claire, at an open house at Rush-Copley Convenient Care in Sugar Grove when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Al Lagattolla.

Where did you grow up? Geneva

Do you have any pets? A beagle named Laverne.

What was your first job? I worked at Crescent Regional Criminal Justice Council. It was part time in high school. And I pretty much logged in the horses that police officers took.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? If you talked to my mom, when I was real little, I wanted to be a rock. But I wanted to become a teacher.

Did you become a teacher? No, I became an administrative assistant.

Do you have any hobbies? I scrapbook.

What is your favorite local restaurant? I like Olive Garden.

What brings you here? My granddaughter loves to play doctor, and this way, she can see the real thing.

Did you make any resolutions this year? I didn’t. I would say if I was going to make one, it would be to eat healthier.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I like being outdoors in the winter. I think a lot of people would probably think that was strange.

What do you think of this winter so far? We need more snow.
