ST. CHARLES – Three organizations seeking to hold events in St. Charles this year have cleared the first hurdle toward gaining City Council approval.

The events are a mixed martial arts event March 9 at the DuPage Expo Center; an Irish Fest on March 15 to 17 at McNally’s Traditional Irish Pub; and the Prairie State Cycling Series on July 21 in downtown St. Charles.

Although the Government Services Committee recommended approval of the events, aldermen had concerns about each proposal and put limits on some requests.
