ELBURN – Trustee Jerry Schmidt called for urgency Monday after a second consecutive week went by without discussion on the proposed Elburn Station development.

It wasn’t a surprise that the topic didn’t come up at Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting. Village President Dave Anderson said board member Jeff Walter had been called away for business and could not attend. Last week, board member Ethan Hastert was not at a board meeting for a similar reason. Anderson has said Elburn Station discussions won’t take place at any meeting in which any board member is missing.

Officials have been debating the ShoDeen development, which would bring about 2,200 homes into the village, near the Metra station.
