Ronald McDonald House to open in Winfield

WINFIELD – Families of children undergoing cancer treatments and other long-term medical procedures at Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital soon will have a “home away from home” in which to stay.

This week, Cadence Health, the health care system that operates CDH in Winfield, Delnor in Geneva and the CDH Proton Center in Warrenville, announced it was partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana to build a Ronald McDonald House facility in Winfield.

The facility will feature 12 private bedrooms and bathrooms, along with a kitchen, dining room, recreational spaces and laundry facilities, according to a statement released by Cadence.
