St. Charles police reports

• A meter reader reported Monday, Jan. 28, that there were several damaged electric meters in the area of North 17th Street and Marguerite Street.

• Deontae C. Nichols, 22, of the 1700 block of Wessel Court, St. Charles, was charged Monday, Jan. 28, with retail theft for reportedly stealing a $41.99 Remy Martin Cognac box set from Lundeen’s Liquor, 610 E. Main St.

• A business in the 200 block of Fairhaven Drive reported Monday, Jan. 28, that it was duped into sending about $1,299 worth of Valentine’s Day items to a florist in Burbank. Once the business realized the order was fraudulent, it canceled a second shipment to the address.
