St. Charles mayoral candidate Jotham Stein issued the following news release:

On Friday night, Feb. 1, the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce awarded mayoral candidate and attorney Jotham Stein the St Charles Chamber of Commerce's Charlemagne Award for Community Development. The chamber gave the award in recognition of the significant renovation Mr. Stein’s law firm made to its historic building on Third Street after relocating there. The award was given as part of the chamber’s 91st annual Charlemagne Awards ceremony honoring contributors to St. Charles.

Stein explained, “I am honored to receive the Charlemagne Award for Community Development for the renovations to my St. Charles office on Third Street in the historic section of our City. I want to thank my assistants Valerie Axen and Cindy Goodrich for their fantastic help turning our building into a place we can all be proud to come to work. I am fortunate to have employees who are committed to my business and have a great sense of style.”

Stein continued, “Business investment in our community is essential to ensuring a vital and thriving City. As Mayor, my top priority will be to recruit businesses to our City to fill the many empty office, empty retail and empty manufacturing spaces throughout our City. When those businesses I am recruiting to our City see my personal investment in St. Charles, they will know the commitment I have to our community and that I have done exactly what I am asking them to do – invest here.”

“We created a truly professional office building in a historic 1920s structure and a conference room where CEOs and business owners from the smallest to largest companies will feel comfortable talking business,” Stein said.

“I am grateful to the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce for presenting me with the Community Development Award. I hope that my investment in downtown St. Charles is just one of the many contributions I can make to ensure that St. Charles is fantastic place to live, raise a family, and operate a business. I hope my next contributions will come as mayor of St. Charles.”
