Elburn police reports

• A woman, 22, of the 400 block of Main Street, Elburn, told police that someone had burglarized her home and had taken a touchscreen tablet from the bedroom of her home. The burglary was reported Jan. 10. Police believed the item was taken Jan. 9.

• A home mortgage lender, based in Richmond, Va., told police that someone had taken an air-conditioning unit from the exterior of a home in the 1000 block of Wise Street. The home was in foreclosure and now is owned by the lender. Police said the copper pipes on the exterior of the house also were taken, but the copper in the house was intact. The incident was reported Jan. 9, but police said they could not determine when the unit was taken.

• Steven T. Bringle, 22, of the 42W600 block of Meadowsweet Drive, Elburn, was charged Jan. 15 with a misdemeanor count of carrying a firearm in his vehicle. He also was charged with speeding (66 mph in a 50 mph zone), driving while his license was suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
