First job? Detasseling corn
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A lawyer. Instead, I make video documentaries.
A movie you’d recommend? “The End of Time”
Favorite charity? Kartemquin Films, a nonprofit educational and documentary film company. I was a post-production assistant for “As Goes Janesville.”
Do you have a documentary? Yes, it’s called “On Grave Horizon” about my great-great-grandfather, who died in a steel mill accident in South Chicago in 1889. You can see a trailer on www.vimeo.com

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I have a Danish girlfriend who is 4,000 miles away. I had first studied there abroad in 2010, and then I had an artist-in-residency in Copenhagan for six months.
