Saturday's Prep Roundup: Geneva boys basketball regroups to topple St. Viator

GENEVA – The Geneva boys basketball team notched a 69-62 win against highly regarded St. Viator on Saturday night, one day after the Vikings fell by 20 points to Larkin.

Geneva coach Phil Ralston considers St. Viator every bit as good as Larkin.

"I don't know how we could look so lethargic one night and look so good the next night but … it was a tremendous response by our young men tonight," Ralston said.

Chris Parrilli and Nate Navigato scored 18 points each for Geneva (17-7), which made 25 of its 28 free throws.

St. Viator boasts a win earlier this month against Benet, which is the No. 2 seed out of 23 teams at the 4A Bolingbrook Sectional. The Vikings contained St. Viator star Ore Arogundade to 15 points.

"He had to earn every single one of the points against us," Ralston said. "I thought our kids did just a phenomenal job tonight."

Connor Chapman added 12 points and Cam Cook scored 11 for Geneva, which led, 32-20, at halftime.

Marmion 67, Marian Central 39: At Aurora, Jordan Glasgow (12 points), Corey Friel (11) and Mike Sheehan (10) hit double figures for the balanced Cadets (9-16, 3-6 SCC Blue).
