Presentation targets prescription drugs

MAPLE PARK – Today, authorities will arm parents with tools to prevent one of the fastest-rising forms of drug abuse in Kane County – prescription drugs.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Tactical Diversion Unit will provide a prescription drug presentation at 6:30 p.m. in the Kaneland High School auditorium. All are welcome.

Topics expected to be addressed include trends in prescription drug abuse; common sources for acquisition of illegal pharmaceuticals; prescription drug identification; and how to properly dispose of prescription medications.
