Art brings an economic boost to central Kane County

For one weekend every year in July, the population of downtown Geneva swells by about 22,000 people.
That’s how many people look for artistic masterpieces at the popular Geneva Fine Arts Fair, which will turn 12 at this year’s festivities. But these visitors aren’t just finding a wide variety of art mediums represented at the fair: They also are stepping into downtown stores and restaurants.
