Art becoming vital part of communities
BATAVIA – Oil painter Greta Bell likes welcoming visitors as she works inside her studio at Water Street Studios in downtown Batavia.
“I really like that connection,” Bell said. “I like interacting, and I like to know who is going to buy my work.”
More and more, art is becoming interwoven in communities. Bell said she is glad that Batavia has put out the welcome mat for artists. Her painting, “Bellevue,” was featured on the 2010 poster for the annual Art In Your Eye fine art show and festival in Batavia.
