Woof Beach celebrating one-year anniversary

Published: Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

BATAVIA – Eric and Christina Wilson are throwing a beach party.

The couple last year opened Woof Beach K9 Spa and Training at 1840 Mill St. in Batavia. To celebrate its one-year anniversary, Woof Beach will hold a beach party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23.

“We wanted to do a celebration as a big thank-you to our customers and just give everybody an opportunity to come out,” Eric Wilson said.

The celebration will feature refreshments, raffles, games and treats for both dogs and humans. The Wilsons have been busy trying to keep up with the demand for their services.

“We’ve added two new groomers and a trainer, and in 2013, we are projecting to add two more groomers and maybe a trainer,” he said.

Eric Wilson is a certified canine behaviorist, and Christina Wilson is a certified dog groomer.

Eric Wilson first will do a free evaluation on a dog before deciding what kind of training would be good for it. He does both group training and one-on-one training with the pet and owner.

Wilson specializes in helping those dogs that have fear and aggression.

Woof Beach also sells a wide variety of products, including all-natural food made in Wheeling. The store sells all-natural treats, toys made for rough playing and organic shampoo.

Information about Woof Beach is available by calling 630-326-9277 or visiting www.woofbeach.com.
