GENEVA – What’s Your Consignment is opening at the corner of Route 25 and East State Street in Geneva

The new store, at 11 E. State St., will be open for business as soon as it gets a new fire alarm installed, owner Jeff Moore said.

The store’s windows already are full of consignment furniture.

“We have couches and end tables and coffee tables, art and home decor,” said Moore, 26, of St. Charles. “We’re not selling $1,000 couches, just your average stuff.”

The store will not sell clothing, he said.

Moore said he has not run a consignment store before, although he used them when living in Ohio. Moore said he moved to St. Charles in July.

“I worked for Habitat for Humanity for about three years in Ohio and dealt with used furniture from consignment shops,” Moore said. “When I moved here, I did not really see any.”

He said the furniture and home furnishings already on display in the store came through his contacts in social media and through friends. For information, call Moore at 630-432-0705 or on Facbook at www.facebook.com/genevaconsignment.
