ST. CHARLES – Local athlete Judson Huxtable was awarded a grant from a national organization to put toward a college scholarship.

Huxtable, who attends  St. Charles North High School, won a National Athleadership Grant sponsored by NCSA Athletic Recruiting and the National Football League Players Association.

A select number of student athletes throughout the country in all sports from football to track are awarded the grant.

To qualify for the  grant, student athletes must demonstrate leadership in their community, academic and athletic achievement as well as a written essay.

As a result of Huxtable’s selection as the recipient of the grant, NCSA Athletic Recruiting will work with him and his family throughout his high school career and assist him in finding a collegiate institution that best matches his academic and athletic achievements, according to a press release.

“Our passionate team of 300 former athletes will personally guide and educate Judson throughout the entire recruiting process, giving him the tools that he needs to be successful in recruiting and in life,” Chris Krause, CEO and founder of NCSA Athletic Recruiting said in the release.

“Picking the right college is a life changing decision. It’s important for student athletes to recognize that the choice of a college or university is not just a four-year decision; it is a 40-year decision that will impact their professional future and personal success in life,” he said in the release.
