As Wredling Middle School sixth-graders Katie Perryman (from left), Andrea Pulacio and Emma Foran buzzed around the school's gymnasium searching for projects that matched their assigned scavenger hunt, I learned that chocolate ice cream melts faster than strawberry or vanilla. At least according to one student's experiment.

Hundreds of projects by sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders were on display during the event and ranged from experiments that involved how long it takes to pop different types of popcorn to how many raisins are in a box of Post Raisin Bran as opposed to Kellogg's Raisin Bran.

Kellogg's had the most raisins, for the record.
