Meeting set to discuss Brady’s role in the GOP

Enough state central committeemen have signed a letter to convene a meeting to discuss ousting Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady over his open support of same-sex marriage.

Jim Oberweis, R-Sugar Grove, has been trying to call a meeting since late January. He reserved conference room space in early February, but he didn’t have the five committeemen signatures required to call the meeting. Same-sex legislation passed in the Senate earlier this month and is pending in the House.

The private meeting is scheduled for March 9, Oberweis said.
