Fire at Aldi warehouse causes $3,000 in damage; no one injured

BATAVIA – A fire early Saturday morning at the Aldi warehouse caused $3,000 in damage, and there were no injuries, according to a news release issued by the Batavia Fire Department.

According to the release, firefighters responded to the call at 1200 N. Kirk Road at 12:31 a.m. They found smoke in the building, and a fire was reported in the forklift charging room. The fire appeared to have started in a work area on a bench, but officials said they cause remains under investigation.

The fire was under control by 12:48 a.m. Crews worked to ventilate significant smoke from the warehouse.
