NORTH AURORA – A North Aurora man has been charged with domestic battery after police say he pushed his wife to the ground, choked her and threatened to kill her.

Police were called to the 200 block of Magnolia Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The North Aurora Police Department arrested Anthony J. Scotti, 35, after he turned himself in, according to a news release. Scotti had fled the scene in his vehicle before the North Aurora Police Department arrived.

Deputy Chief David Fisher with the North Aurora Police Department said Scotti turned himself in about 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

He said Scotti’s wife did not seek medical attention.

Scotti was held at the Aurora Branch Court in Aurora, and his bond was set at $4,000 Monday. He later was transferred to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

He is charged with one count of domestic battery causing bodily harm and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, both Class A misdemeanors.
