GENEVA – Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen seeks resumes from qualified individuals who would like to serve as Kane County's representative on the Regional Transportation Authority Board of Directors. Resumes should be submitted to his office no later than noon Friday, March 22, at 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva, IL 60134 or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To keep RTA services on track, the board meets regularly to build plans for the future, generate enthusiasm for current projects and listen to constituents. Success for this board requires leaders and service participants who thoroughly understand the importance of regional balance among financial capital, operating assets and human resources. The board as a whole and Kane County in particular have been fortunate to have both. The RTA relies on leadership and experience from all areas of the region. Kane County has one representative on the 16-member RTA board.
Applicants must have a proven record of excellent administrative, management and budgetary skills. A detailed knowledge of Kane County government policies and a clear record of representing and protecting its interests will be distinct advantages to the applicant and beneficial to the county. It is also imperative that the successful candidate share the Kane County board chairman's vision of keeping taxes low, working to improve the lives of Kane County residents and providing competent administration through innovation in every aspect that touches Kane County, including the Regional Transportation Authority.
Along with these criteria, three members of the board will comprise a bipartisan selection panel to review resumes, conduct interviews and make their recommendation to the chairman for his final decision. This process must be completed by early April 2013.
