Batavia School Board holding hearing on virtual campus
BATAVIA – The Batavia School Board at 6 p.m. today will hold a public hearing on a proposal from an Illinois not-for-profit corporation called Virtual Learning Solutions Inc. to establish an online, virtual charter school serving grades K-12.
Virtual Learning Solutions is seeking to create the Illinois Virtual Charter School at Fox River Valley, which would start operation this fall. The company contracts with K12 Inc., a for-profit company, to provide the online instruction.
The hearing is part of the Batavia School Board’s regular meeting, which will be held at the Rosalie Jones Administration Center, 335 W. Wilson St., Batavia.
