WHEATON – The St. Francis boys volleyball team knocked off Glenbard North, 25-19, 25-19, on Monday in both teams' season opener.

The Spartans were led by Jeff Jendryk (eight kills, seven blocks), Robert Smith (16 assists, five service points) and Matt Metzler and Greg Churney (five kills apiece).

GENEVA – The St. Charles North boys lacrosse team defeated Naperville Central (6-5), St. Charles East (8-3) and Geneva (7-2) in Saturday's preseason Battle of Burgess tournament, going 3-0 to gain momentum for its upcoming spring break trip to St. Louis.
