Published: Friday, March 22, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

BATAVIA – The Rev. Glen Morden said he is looking forward to getting to know all of the members of the Batavia Covenant Church in the coming weeks.

Morden on Sunday will be installed as the church’s new senior pastor.

Previously, Morden had been the senior pastor of the Patterson Covenant Church in Patterson, Calif., for the past six years.

“We are just looking forward to getting involved in the community as much as we can,” Morden said.

Morden, his wife, Marci, and their four young children already have moved into a house in Batavia that is near the church. Their adult child will stay in California.

“Batavia seems like a great place to raise a family,” he said.

The public is invited to go Sunday to either the 9 a.m. contemporary worship service with contemporary praise song or the 10:35 a.m. service with traditional hymns accompanied by organ, piano, brass or strings.

A meet and greet with coffee and snacks is planned from 10 to 10:35 a.m.

Batavia Covenant Church is at 1314 Main St., Batavia, across the street from the Batavia High School campus. Information is available at the church’s website, www.bataviacovenant.com.
