Musical knowledge

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

I spent part of my Friday night last week in the balcony of Kaneland High School's auditorium during their opening night performance of West Side Story. As the school's orchestra played the familiar music, I half wanted to just sit back and enjoy the show, instead of taking photos.

I've always loved musicals, and West Side Story is on my list of favorites. It joins The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Wicked - I could go on forever.

I'll get a chance to test my musical knowledge this Saturday for the annual Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley Trivia Bee at the Q Center in St. Charles. The Kane County Chronicle will have two teams of three competing. Wish us luck!
