Sugar Grove police reports

• A woman, 55, of the 900 block of Merrill New Road, Sugar Grove, told police on Feb. 27 that she believed someone had taken about $1,500 in cash from a dresser drawer in her home. She told police she believed it was one of the members of a carpet installation crew that had been working in her home on that date. Police searched the men, work trucks and the carpet rolls and remnant bundles, but did not find the purported missing cash.

• Nicholas Gronkiewicz, 23, of the 5S500 block of Arlington Avenue, Naperville, was charged March 1 with possession of between 2.5 to 10 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding (73 mph in a 55 mph zone).

• David C. Byers, 27, of the 300 block of Brian Street, Sycamore, was arrested March 2 on a Kane County warrant for violation of a court order.

• A woman, 23, of the 17100 block of Overkill Ave., Tinley Park, told police someone had slashed the tires of her vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of Brompton Lane, Sugar Grove, on March 7.

• Zachary Robinson, 26, of the 700 block of Wild Ginger Road, Sugar Grove, was charged March 8 with resisting and obstructing police, fleeing and attempting to elude police, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle without a front registration plate and operating a vehicle with a frame height greater than 28 inches tall.

• Police responded to a business in the 500 block of Route 47 in Sugar Grove on March 12, where they discovered the front glass door of the business had been shattered by a rock thrown through it. The damage was discovered at 9 a.m. March 12. Police said further investigation found that someone had taken a cash register drawer from the business containing about $500 in cash and checks. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
