Face Time with Sophia Vicencio

Iowa City, Iowa, resident Sophia Vicencio, 19, was at Biggby Coffee in St. Charles when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? St. Charles. I go to the University of Iowa.

Pets? A red and white Irish setter named Dudley and two cats, Daisy and Ferris

Who would play you in the movie of your life? I would play myself.

First job? I wrapped presents for friends and baby-sat for them.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Cirque du Soleil acrobat. I’m still finding myself. I have an open major at school.

A book you’d recommend? “Parable of the Sower” by Octavia Butler

Favorite charity? Make-A-Wish Foundation

Do you speak another language? Spanish

Hobbies? I plan events with the cultural activities board at my school.

Favorite local restaurant? JuRin Japanese Restaurant in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I am half-Filipino. The other half is Irish, German, Polish, Russian and Canadian.
