Geneva Historic Homes Association announces endorsements

The Geneva Historic Homes Association issued a news release regarding endorsements for the April 9 election:

"The Geneva Historic Homes Association recently sent a questionnaire to candidates running for the offices of alderman, school board and library trustee. The members wished to endorse candidates who shared their concern for historic preservation and maintaining the character and charm of our city. Because of issues such as the decision to demolish Coultrap School, the tremendous public response to preserve the Pure Oil building, the possible relocation of the Geneva Library as well as other preservation related controversies; we felt it important to get candidates positions on historic preservation. We kept these questions short and only on issues that our members are most concerned with. Our questions focused on preservation, adaptive reuse of historic buildings and balancing Historic Preservation goals with downtown vitality and future development. We appreciate the time that candidates took to address these questions and have elected to endorse the following candidates:"

City of Geneva, Alderman, Ward 1

Michael Bruno

Geneva School District 304, Board of Education

Mark Grosso

Robert L. Cabeen

Leslie N. Juby

Geneva Public Library, Trustee
