Letter: Candidates demonstrate total dedication

To the Editor:

As a teacher with over 40 years of experience, I understand the value of good education. I taught in the Aurora and Yorkville schools for 25 years and have followed the development of Waubonsee Community College over that period of time.

WCC is a highly respected member of the local education community, with a proven record of providing accessible, quality education in modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Furthermore, WCC has demonstrated a record of solid financial stewardship and balanced budgets. In addition to the outstanding leadership of the administration and the highest professional quality of its faculty, another integral component to the success of WCC is the support, experience and accountability of its board of trustees.

Richard "Shorty" Dickson and Dr. Richard Bodiež two current members of the board, are slated for re-election on April 9. These two members have demonstrated an energetic and total dedication to the successful growth of WCC. They are two of the best among the best.

I have had the privilege of following the careers of a number of WCC grads whom I taught in high school, and every one speaks glowingly of the contributions WCC has made to their success. The efforts of Dr. Bodie and Mr. Dickson have been a vital part of the reasons that WCC has been so valuable to our grads. I strongly urge you to vote for them, so that WCC maintains its continuity of expert education and preparedness for our students of today and tomorrow.
