Media Day tidbits, appetizer edition

Back from Cougars media day at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark and will have more in the blog and Twitter today before our story in Wednesday's KCC.

For now, here are a few bits to whet your appetite, beginning in a fitting place:

• Concession stands have been renamed Sheffield Grille (stands behind home plate) & Waveland Cafe (stands down the baselines). Food is not sold under Cubs-themed names, and there is no Old Style on tap.

• Players from 7 countries – USA, Canada, DR, South Africa, Cuba, Venezuela & Taiwan – dot the roster. "Isn't that cool?" general manager Curtis Haug said.

• Prized outfield prospect Albert Almora would have started the season in Kane County, manager Mark Johnson said. Almora broke the hamate bone in his left hand in March
