And then there were 25

The Cougars made a handful of roster moves Tuesday to finalize their Opening Day roster at 25 players.

The Cougars, in conjunction with the parent Cubs, sent infielder David Bote to the Cubs' spring training complex in Arizona while placing catcher Yaniel Cabezas on the disabled list. That allowed the club to bring infielder Wes Darvill to Kane County.

Darvill batted .224 in 447 at-bats with Peoria last season, hitting three home runs and collecting 35 RBIs. He was a fifth-round draft pick in 2009.
