Route 64 traffic flowing again after temporary re-routing at Kautz Road

ST. CHARLES – Traffic was temporarily diverted at Route 64 and Kautz Road this morning when an electrician hit a 1-inch gas service line leading to Pheasant Run, said James Bernahl, the St. Charles Public Works engineering division manager.

St. Charles Police Department spokesperson Paul McCurtain said the incident took place at 9:12 a.m., and he said because of a quick response by the gas company, traffic was flowing again 25 minutes later.

Bernahl had been in contact with Illinois Department of Transportation officials and said that traffic had been re-routed as repairs were being made.
