Gresey: More than 175,000 see post of river video

The Kane County Chronicle reporting team was dedicated to weather coverage Thursday.

Throughout that day, traffic updates, flood videos, rain photos and other related news items were posted on our website, Facebook page and Twitter account.

One particular post of a video garnered the most views anything on our Facebook page has ever received.

The video – shot by reporter Nicole Weskerna – was of a bloated Fox River churning under the Main Street bridge in downtown St. Charles.

More than 175,000 Facebook users have seen our post of the video. Comments on the video Thursday included: “Holy cow! This is scary.” “Usually fishermen can stand ankle deep at the dam. Wow.” And, “Wow indeed! thanks for sharing this!”
