Stingy streaks continue for North, St. Francis girls soccer

St. Charles North and St. Francis are not scheduled to meet during this girls soccer season, and because the teams are part of different IHSA postseason classes, would not tangle in May or June.

It's likely any North Stars-Spartans encounter would not include many goals. Both teams on Tuesday continued impressive streaks of stinginess to open 2013.

The North Stars' 1-0 shutout of St. Charles East gave the team 10 clean sheets in 11 matches. North still has not allowed a goal in the run of play, as it surrendered a penalty kick to Neuqua Valley in its lone loss late last month.

St. Francis remains unscored upon, period, after a 3-0 shutout of Marian Central. The Spartans boast a 30-0 scoring edge against opponents through nine matches.
