Kaneland football players are Platteville-bound
MAPLE PARK – The Kaneland football program is building quite the pipeline to Wisconsin-Platteville.
Knights seniors Blake Bradford, a linebacker/safety, and Zach Theis, an offensive lineman, both have committed to the Division-III Pioneers.
Bradford and Theis will double the number of Kaneland products on the Platteville roster. Receivers Quinn Buschbacher and Ryley Bailey are already part of the Pioneers’ program.
“It’ll be fun,” Bradford said Thursday. “I can’t wait to see those guys again, and I used to hang out with Quinn quite a bit in high school. It’ll be nice to be back up there with him, and Ryley has been friends with my brother as long as I can remember. … I think it’ll be nice to have all of us back together again, and I think we’ll have fun playing the sport that we love.”
Bradford and Theis had both given strong consideration to Carroll University before choosing UW-Platteville, with Bradford deciding more recently. Bradford, who expects to play safety in college, said he and Theis plan to be roommates.
“We already have a TV and everything … we’re just ready to go,” Bradford said.
