Face time with Mary Fremgen

St. Charles resident Mary Fremgen, 57, was walking with her husband and dog when she answered 12 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? St. Charles

Pets? Nellie, a Shih Tzu

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Julia Child

First job? Folding lingerie at Turn Style, a discount store like Kmart

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A ski jumper. I became a dietitian.

A movie you’d recommend? “Silver Linings Playbook”

Favorite charity? I am co-director of Fox Valley Food for Health, where high school volunteers prepare healthy meals for cancer patients.

Hobbies? I run.

Do you speak another language? Spanish

Do you play an instrument? Piano

Favorite local restaurant? E & S Seafood in St. Charles and Tavalino in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? Six years ago, my daughter Molly and I won first place in a mother-daughter Irish dance competition in Acapulco, Mexico.
