Geneva resident Jim Clausen, 78, was collecting donations for Misericordia at St. Charles Jewel when he answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Chicago, Logan Square

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Red Skelton

First job? Part-time letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service during off hours from school

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? An engineer. I became a sales rep instead.

A movie you’d recommend? “Miracle on 34th Street”

Favorite charity? Misericordia, a home for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. And St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Hobbies? Fishing for small-mouth bass in the Fox River

Do you play an instrument? Piano, guitar and clarinet

Favorite local restaurant? State Street Diner in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met Mickey Mantle in an elevator in New York City and shook his hand. I also used to be the floor director for WGN TV. I held up the cue cards and did Man on the Street interviews with Jack Brickhouse and Wally Phillips.
