IHSA reunion for Cougars' Heesch, Hot Rods' Rowan

Cougars left-hander Michael Heesch is working with the pitch chart crew during today's doubleheader against Bowling Green, but that doesn't keep him from having a pulse on other goings-on.

One of those things is the Hot Rods roster, which includes Neuqua Valley graduate Geoff Rowan, a backup catcher.

That's the same Rowan who opposed Heesch as a right-hander when Prairie Ridge beat Neuqua in a 4A state semifinal in June 2008.

"We've faced each other quite a bit," Heesch said.

Heesch and Rowan also were opponents in summer ball before college, then again when Heesch was with Illinois-Chicago and Rowan with Northwestern.
