ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Public Works Department is beginning an exterior construction project at the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, beginning the week of May 6. Work is expected to be finished within six months.

The building will remain open during normal business hours, and all city business will continue as usual. The southeast parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Riverside Avenue – also known as the checkerboard lot – will be closed during construction, along with the building's south entrance.

Public access will remain open on the north side, and short-term parking will be available close to that entrance for visitors.

For  information about the project, including updates and progress reports, visit www.stcharlesil.gov, or call public works at 630-377-4405.
